Girls Dream to become a Cheerleader

Cheerleading has been around for a long time.  It is something that many girls like to think about starting at a very young age.  They imagine standing in a gym cheering for the basketball game, or out on the football field, doing cheers at half time.  If you’re a parent, at a very early age your children may have already talked you into buying them that first set of play pom-poms.  You may have even sat back and watched them perform a cheer or two that they made up just for you.

Young children enjoy making up simple cheers for everything that happens.  If you cook their favorite meal they will cheer for a job well done.  If you plan a day of fun and amusement they may cheer all the way to your destination.  Young children have so much excitement and enthusiasm to spread around.  It seems they never get tired.
This is what cheerleading is all about, showing excitement and encouraging others to participate in the fun.  Being able to motivate others is a key factor in cheerleading.  You need the energy of a child to keep the pace it requires to support and encourage your team.  Cheerleaders help to keep the audience excited and lift everyone’s spirit.
It takes a special type of person to be a cheerleader.  You must be dedicated and loyal.  You must be willing to sacrifice personal time to practice and learn cheers.  While many of your friends may be meeting to see a movie together, you may be preparing for a game.  You must be willing to make these sacrifices to be able to succeed as a cheerleader.
Cheerleaders are always in a spotlight, even when you are not on the sidelines cheering for your team.  Classmates and school newspapers always want to know what’s going on in your life.  You have to be willing to be in the public eye.
You set examples for many other people, especially younger children whose dream is to be a cheerleader one day.  They look up to you and follow your examples, good and bad.  That is why it is so important to make sure you set good examples in everything you do.
A cheerleader wil smile and encourage others even when they are having a problem, or simply just feeling bad.  They are the ones who cheer their team on to victory during a difficult game.  If their team is defeated, cheerleaders will be there to help them get ready for the next game by building up their confidence.  This helps the team to get ready and be motivated for the next game.  Cheerleaders are a vital part of any sports team.
Cheerleading is  very athletic and requires you to be in good physical condition.  It takes a lot of effort to perform many of the cheers and routines.  Much of today’s cheerleading includes stunts that require coordination, balance and lots of team work.
Cheerleading is one of the best ways to show school spirit and pride.  A cheerleader supports all the team activities from football to basketball.  They help put enthusiasm and spirit in pep rallies. To be a cheerleader you have to possess leadership qualities.
